King's Cross Station - Platform 9 ¾

Let's go back to posts kicking the bucket? What better way is not a special Harry Potter? Well I'm a big fan of the boy wizard, who for reasons that are obvious with me, I love magic, Love witchcraft, and soon a series that portrays all I wanted to be something different can not awake. I read my first book in the series in 2000, that means they are 10 years of charm ... which includes books, shirts, and even a wand ^ ^ But not nearly what I would have and be, but past traumas that have taught me not Purple fans should be nothing that we should move freely throughout the world .... hahahaha!

I went to the film's premiere at dawn, taking the family literally td! Loved the movie, but I suspect not? The fact is that all films were wonderful places, some fictional, some real, and these are real places that'll show to you. They spend so quickly in the film that we barely have time to admire. The first is the platform 9 ¾ which is located in King's Cross Station in London.

Railway Station King's Cross is a central terminal train that is located far north of London, at the junction of the A501 Euston Road and Way York, in the district of Kings Cross and the London Borough of Camden, in border of the London Borough of Islington. It was opened in 1852.

King's Cross was originally designed and built as the center of London's Great Northern Railway and the end of the east coast main line. He was named King's Cross area of \u200b\u200bLondon, which got its name after the monument to King George IV was demolished in 1845.

Plans for the station was first made in December 1848, by and under the direction of George Turnbull, resident engineer for construction of the first 20 kilometers of the Great Northern Railway out of Londres.O project was detailed by Lewis Cubitt and built in 1851-1852 was at the site of a former hospital fever and smallpox.

The main part of the station, which today includes platforms 1-8, was inaugurated on 14 October 1852. It replaced a temporary terminal in Maiden Lane, which began on August 7, 1850.

platforms have been reconfigured several times. Originally, there was only one entrance and a boarding platform (platforms 1 and 8, respectively), with space between fences used for transport. In later years, as suburban traffic grew, the space for additional platforms were added. The building now containing secondary platforms 9-11 (and fictional Platform 9 3 / 4) survives from that time.

IN HARRY POTTER

King's Cross is featured in the Harry Potter books, as the starting point of the Express Hogwarts. The train uses a secret platform, the 9 ¾ located on the wall barrier between platforms 9 and 10.

When the films were made, the station scenes took place inside the main station, with platforms 4 and 5 that became the 9 and 10. In the film Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the outer side of St. Pancras station was used, because the Victorian Gothic facade that was considered more impressive than the real King's Cross.

Making of Scenes from the movie Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

When the first film was released, a large floor panel was placed on the floor outside the platforms 9 and 10, indicating the Hogwarts Express. Inside the King's Cross, a cast-iron plate read: "Platform 9 ¾" was posted on a wall of the station building is located where the real platforms 9 and 10. Part of a luggage cart was also installed below the sign, just the end of the stand is visible as the rest of the car seems to have disappeared into the wall. It is common to see Harry Potter fans stopping to photograph the car, or trying to push the rest of the luggage trolley through the wall to the hidden platform.
